Since 1994, we have produced a spiced Holiday Ale every year for the Fall and Winter Holiday seasons. The current kit is based on a formulation we first perfected in 1999, and by popular demand, we have settled on this formulation ever since. A spiced honey brown ale, our Holiday Ale is spiced with orange peel, allspice and other spices. The spices balance the sweetness of the honey, and the resulting brown ale has a rich honey malt character and delicate bitterness.
Alcohol: 5.8%, IBU’s 35 Includes 9 lbs. of our blended malt extract and honey, mixed spices, flavoring hops, 125 ml of liquid ale yeast, and corn sugar for carbonation. Makes 5 gallons with a starting gravity of at least 1.058. Ease of Brewing: Beginner
