With its origin from countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, Baltic Porter is a strong porter style brewed with lager yeast, relatively low in hop flavor, and darkened with debittered dark malts to avoid all but a hint of roast malt character. It is a perfect platform to showcase pale and darker malt in a rich cocoa coffee-like smoothness, without violating the delicate balance with too many hops or too much roast malt. Alcohol level is approximately 6.5%, IBU’s 32.

Q: what yeas would you suggest using with this style?
A: The kit includes 2124 Wyeast Bohemian Lager, which during many test tasting, found to be best for the style, considering most people will ferment this kit at warner ale temperatures.

Baltic Porter
Love it! One of my favorites from Williams. Everyone I shared it with was impressed. Would brew it again.
Baltic Porter (aged in whiskey barrel)
This is a great stand alone, but I let this age for 4 months in the 5 gallon whiskey barrel you sell, and it turned out awesome! Kegged perfectly.
