Hint: If using a popular Dewalt(R) 20 volt drill battery, cut a paperclip in two sections and stick one in the B+ slot and one in the B- slot of the drill battery. Then attach the red clip to the B+ slot, and the black slip to the B- slot.

Q: If this is a 24 volt system, why is it stating, it’s okay to hook it up to a 12 volt battery?
A: It is DC and can run from 12 to 24 volts DC. A car battery will run it, although slightly slower than a drill battery or the 24 volt transformer.
