Sparge Float Ball Assembly

This kit will convert all 10 gallon Igloo®, Rubbermaid®, and Gott® round water coolers into an insulated mash tun. Everything is included, the stainless false bottom, valve, connecting barbs, silicone seals, and tubing.

This includes our new more efficient false bottom with a wort pickup pipe that is held ¼" from the floor of the cooler for maximum efficiency, and a silicone lip for the false bottom to both securely seal it to the cooler bottom and prevent cooler scratches.

Just remove the valve from your existing 10 gallon cooler, and install the bulkhead and valve, and the inside false bottom and hose attachment.  Includes a 3/8" outlet hose barb.

As of August 10th, 2018, we have updated this to include a longer bulkhead, so the valve handle does not have a problem closing against the cooler.

Quick and Easy

Review by Mitchell on 3/26/2015

This was a perfect fit for a 10 gallon Rubbermaid beverage cooler. Very easy to put together- took me about 15 min to disassemble and assembly. First use gave me a good consistent flow with no stuck sparge.

very efficient

Great fit, and great yields so far, brewed only about 5 batches so far on it, the fit on the home depot coolers is weird, it doesn't leak if tightened nicely, but could use a washer.. had one partial suck sparge (don't forget your hulls) and the first time I us ed it, the hose swelled causing it to come apart mid mash(good thing for bag brewers custom brew bags) just add a hose clamp to each side of the dip hose and been great ever since

functional yet inelegant

Review by Clay on 4/20/2015

The kit is functional, yet, with the rubbermaid the fit leaves something to be desired. In fact, I had better luck using the silicone washer that came with the cooler instead of the O-ring on the back nut. No leaks after some tinkering and tightening.

Its Perfect

Leak free and easy to install in a home depot 10 gallon cooler. I read some people have trouble with the internal hose getting warm then slipping off, but its such a tight fit I don't see where it could go. I didn't experience any problems and made my first batch of all grain beer! I'd recommend this to anyone

Cooler Conversion Kit

Review by Danny on 5/29/2016

I used this product on my H/D cooler. It was easy to install and does not leak. The silicone lip is somewhat a pain in the hips to put on the false bottom, but, I am sure I will figure out an easier way. This product worked good on my last all grain brew and I did not have any issues with the small hose commit loose. Williams Brewing has become my go to place to shop for brewing equipment. Customer service is great and cheap one day shipping to So Cal is fantastic.

Q: Would this work with Fermenter’s Favorite (7- or 10-gal) cooler?

A: It looks to us like the 10 gallon Fermenter's Favorite is very similar to a 10 gallon Igloo or Rubbermaid/Home Depot cooler, and if so, it will work.

Q: What is the dead space of the false bottom

A: The false bottom is 2 1/2 inches high in the middle. The dead space depends on the cooler. You can measure the dead space in your cooler by filling your cooler with the valve removed and fill it until water just starts to flow from the hole where the valve mounts.

Q: Are all the valve components and fittings 100% stainless steel?

A: All are except the collar of the nut which holds the inner hose nipple for the bulkhead. This nut is nickel plated brass (FDA approved).

Q: Will this work with the 10 gal igloo coolers from Lowes?

A: We have not tried this, but based on the fact that this looks very similar to 10 gallon Igloo coolers we have tested, it will work.
